Cotabato City – Organized by the Regional Planning and Development Office (RPDO) and the Bureau of Public Information, a two (2) day ARMM Public Information Officers’ Writeshop in support to the ARMM-H.E.L.P.S. Convergence was conducted on April 10-11, 2013 at the RPDO-ARMM Conference Hall, Cotabato City.
The ARMM H.E.L.P.S. which stands for Health, Education, Livelihood, Peace and Governance and Synergy is the banner program of the present leadership of OIC-Regional Governor Hon. Mujiv S. Hataman that aims to bring the services of the regional government closer to its constituents through the delivery of integrated and more focused interventions in identified convergence areas.
The 2-day writeshop primarily aims to a) capacitate the information officers of the ARMM regional line agencies and the RPDO technical staff on the news/feature writing, and b) come up with news/feature stories of ARMM-H.E.L.P.S. Convergence launching activities conducted in the 15 identified priority barangays.
In her opening statement, Dir. Baintan Ampatuan, Executive Director of the RPDO stressed that the activity was conceived to document important services and activities undertaken during the launching of the ARMM H.E.L.P.S. Convergence. She said that the output of the writeshop will served as a tool to communicate to the public some of the regional governments’ initiatives in support to the ARMM reform agenda of the present leadership.
Dir. Nasrul“Nash” Maulana, Executive Director of the BPI-ARMM, served as resource speaker and a mentor during the two-day writeshop shared some of his expertise in news and feature writing.
At the end of the two day writeshop, 10 news/feature stories were prepared and agreed to be published in the RPDO website for the public to be informed about the regions’ programs/ projects and services in support to the ARMM-H.E.L.P.S. Convergence.
