The Regional Planning and Development Office (RPDO-ARMM) joined the 113th Labor Day celebration with the theme “Disenteng Trabaho at Kabuhayan Alay Natin sa Bayan”, held on May 1, 2015 at the ARMM Compound, Cotabato City.
The celebration was spearheaded by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE-ARMM) and participated by all ARMM government officials, representatives from all the private sectors and companies who are operating within the region.
In his opening remarks, Sec. Muslimin A. Jakilan, DOLE-ARMM Regional Secretary emphasized that the celebration focuses on the meaningful and dedicated labor that the workers continuously give to the ARMM communities. He added that with the dedication to work, it will greatly contribute to our basic necessities as the head of the family, an ordinary wage earner or a true public servant.
Atty. Laisa Masuhud-Alamia, ARMM Executive Secretary gave a keynote speech in behalf of the Regional Governor Mujiv S. Hataman. She said, “In recent years, we, in the ARMM, have taken necessary steps to ensure that our region makes significant progress in terms of economic and human development. The poverty situation in ARMM is a reality that we have always acknowledged as we continue to strive to promote inclusive, accountable and sustainable development.”
She also stressed that the Labor Day celebration is the day we recognize the collective efforts and ideas in solidarity with the workers in the region.
The program ended with the closing remarks led by Mr. Mahendra A. Madjilon, DOLE-ARMM Under Secretary through acknowledging all the participants during the celebration.
