RPMC utilizes Geo-Tagging Tool for monitoring in Tawi-Tawi

RPDO-ARMM The Regional Project Monitoring Committee (RPMC) technical team utilized Geo-tagging tool for monitoring of infra-development projects under the CY 2012-2014, ARMM Health, Education, Livelihood, Peace and Synergy (ARMM-HELPS’) and Water and Sanitation (WatSan) projects in the province of Tawi-Tawi last May 4-8, 2015.

The monitoring team aimed at four (4) major objectives, such as: 1) governing standard specifications of infrastructure project; 2) use of geo-tagging; 3) environment protection/ or climate related-risks; and 4) safety and health measures.

The team believed that with geo-tagging tool, it will provide transparency in government infrastructure projects by tracking project information especially in remote areas with the use of Global Positioning System (GPS).

Moreover, geo-tagging will provide detailed information on the projects such as dates, locations, and the tangible structures on both vertical (refers to the roads) and horizontal (refers to the buildings and facilities). This will allow project managers, agencies, donors and partners, to verify and monitor the changes and developments of the projects implemented by various organizations.
