The Regional Economic and Development Planning Board of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (REDPB-ARMM) is currently convening its Sectoral Committees Quadripartite Meeting at the AlNor Convention Hall, AlNor, Cotabato City.
“All four (4) committees should discuss thoroughly their sectoral agenda. We hope we can generate inputs from the committees so that the sectoral agenda will be included in the upcoming RETCC and REDPB meeting next year,” Engr. Baintan A. Ampatuan, Regional Planning and Development Office (RPDO) Executive Director, stressed in her opening message.
Atty. Laisa Masuhud-Alamia, region’s Executive Secretary, said that the meeting is timely because the ARMM budget has been approved by the Senate.
“We have generated 29 billion pesos for 2016 plus 10 billion additional infrastructure projects for the DPWH lodged at the DPWH National. We are still working with other program funds from various agencies such as DOH, DepEd, DAF and others that shall be downloaded for ARMM,” Executive Secretary Alamia added.
Executive Secretary Alamia also said that one of the highlights of the meeting will be the assessment of the cluster convergence relevant for today’s agenda.
This morning’s agenda presented and discussed were updates on the previous REDPB meeting, presentation of the proposed ARMM Anti-Poverty Model, updates on ARMM-Humanitarian and Development Action Plan (ARMM-HDAP), and 2015 Performance-Based Bonus (PBB) preparation. Successive to the presentations will be a breakout session of the REDPB’s four (4) sectoral committees.
The REDPB is the highest planning and policy-making body in ARMM composed of the Regional Governor, provincial governors, city mayors, three (3) representatives of the Regional Assembly, and five (5) representatives from non-government organizations. The Board has four sectoral committees namely Regional Development Administration Committee (RDAC), Regional Infrastructure Development Committee (RIDC), Regional Social Development Committee (RSDC), and Regional Economic Development Committee (REDC).
