"More than 125,000 Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) who are affected by the Law Enforcement Operations (LEOs) last year will be the priority target of the implementation ARMM-Humanitarian and Development Action Plan (HDAP) livelihood projects," Ms. Melanie M. Indar, Regional Planning and Development Office-Macro Economic Planning Division (RPDO-MEPD) chief, delivered a message in behalf of Engr. Baintan A. Ampatuan, newly appointed project manager and RPDO Executive Director, during the ARMM-HDAP meeting. The meeting was held on January 14 at the RPDO Conference Room, ARMM Compound, Cotabato City.
The meeting aimed at convening regional line agencies such as RPDO, Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Cooperative Development Authority (CDA), and Regional Commission on Bangsamoro Women (RCBW) to confer with the livelihood projects to be implemented under the ARMM-HDAP.
"We encourage the agencies that will implement livelihood projects to prioritize the 125,000 beneficiaries based on the DSWD master list and to enhance and finalize the project proposal as basis for implementation," Ms. Indar added.
"We need to start now because this year is the official launching of ARMM-HDAP projects," Ms. Alia Raida A. Macaumbos, RPDO-Social Planning Division (SPD) chief said.
The ARMM-HDAP was formulated under the administration of Regional Governor Mujiv S. Hataman to address the needs of the IDPs affected by both natural and man-made calamities especially the all-out military operations.
ESTABLISHMENT OF ARMM-HDAP PMO
Since the implementation of ARMM-HDAP, the RPDO has been actively corroborating with regional line agencies' implementation of its projects through the provision of technical assistance in monitoring, evaluating and geotagging. Because of this, Regional Governor Hataman lodged the implementation of the Plan's projects to RPDO.
"It is a very huge task that the Office will face but we will do this to help those in need and to improve or boost their lives," RPDO Executive Director Ampatuan said in an interview.
On January 13, RPDO Executive Director Ampatuan was officially designated as the Project Manager of the ARMM-HDAP Project Management Office (PMO).
The RPDO will work hand-in-hand with the regional line agencies in the course of projects' and programs' implementation.
