Members of the Regional Development Administration Committee (RDAC) of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) convene during the conduct of its 1st Regular Meeting for CY 2016 held on February 10 at the Regional Planning and Development (RPDO) Conference Hall, ARMM Compound, Cotabato City.
Engr. Khalid Dumagay, Director III, spoke in behalf of Committee chair Atty. Anwar Malang, DILG Secretary. He stressed in his message the importance of the meeting.
"The meeting is primarily aimed at explaining and updating the committee members on the goals of RDAC as well as the activities lined up for the 1st quarter of 2016," Engr. Dumagay added.
Engr. Baintan A. Ampatuan, RPDO Executive Director and ARMM-Humanitarian and Development Action Plan (ARMM-HDAP) Project Manager, emphasized in her opening statement that the Committee plays a vital role in terms of the formulation of policies on peace and governance.
"Our aim for this year is to strengthen the organizational and fiscal management. We shall continue to pursue government policies with the approval of Regional Economic and Development Planning Board (REDPB) for a more resilient autonomous regional government (ARG)," Engr. Ampatuan added.
The RDAC is one of the sectoral committees of the REDPB, ARMM's highest policy-making body, which helps assess, evaluate, coordinate and monitor the implementation of programs and projects of the regional government.
Agenda presented and discussed during the meeting were the Assessment of the ARMM Regional Development Plan Midterm Update 2013-2016, Updates on the Regional Sub-Committee on Water and Sanitation (RSCWS), and Issues and Concerns that need to be elevated to the Board.
The meeting was facilitated by the RPDO, as technical secretariat of the REDPB, in coordination with the region's Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG). It was attended by representatives from concerned regional line agencies such as DILG, RPDO, Technical Management Services of the Office of the Regional Governor (TMS-ORG), Administrative Management Services (AMS-ORG), Office of the Civil Defense (OCD), Office of the Regional Treasurer (ORT), Bureau of Public Information (BPI), Regional Budget and Management Office (RBMO), Housing and Land Use Regulatory Board (HLURB), Regional Reconciliation and Unification Commission (RRUC), Philippine National Police-Police Regional Office (PNP-PRO ARMM), Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM), ARMM Development Academy (ADA), and Civil Service Commission (CSC).
