The RPDO-ARMM website serves as an e-government created to provide individuals, and organizations vital information and data on the current efforts of the autonomous regional government (ARG) that is more transparent and accessible to the public.

It is an “all-in-one” communication medium as it aims to inform and promote information including news and current affairs of the regional government, interpret and explain detailed data on the monitoring and evaluation of ongoing and completed programs and projects being implemented by the concerned agencies, and be a highly interactive site for the web-visitors by way of commenting and suggesting in the dialogue box for the improvement of the information drive.

RIDC-ARMM strengthens ARG infrastructure interventions for 2016 and 2017

RIDC-ARMM MeetingThe Regional Infrastructure Development Committee of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (RIDC-ARMM) conducted its 1st Regular Meeting for CY 2016 yesterday February 18, at the Regional Planning and Development Office (RPDO) Conference Hall, ARMM Compound, Cotabato City.

The Committee was chaired by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) under the headship of its Regional Secretary Engr. Don Mustapha A. Loong, and facilitated by the RPDO as the technical secretariat of the Regional Economic Development and Planning Board (REDPB).

Engr. Baintan A. Ampatuan, RPDO Executive Secretary and ARMM-Humanitarian and Development Action Plan (ARMM-HDAP) Project Manager, delivered her opening statement. She said that through the RIDC, all agencies involved have a mission in intensifying the identification of the needed programs and projects in the ARMM.

"This is a very important committee because it focuses on the physical development of the projects being implemented by the autonomous regional government (ARG). This year, we need to expand more the scope of the government interventions and synchronized our efforts in order to fast-track the implementation and consolidated priority infrastructure projects to be tackled for the 2017 budget," Engr. Ampatuan added.

The RIDC is one of the sectoral committees of the Board that 1) assists in the infrastructure plan formulation, project development, plan implementation and coordination of Official Development Assistance (ODA) and regular infrastructure program/project and programs/project monitoring and evaluation and make proper recommendation for final action 2) coordinates all infrastructure planning and programming activities of local government units (LGUs) and infrastructure line agencies in the region.

Regional Secretary Loong stated in his message that the DPWH had implemented various infrastructure projects both vertical and horizontal structures for the past year. "Now, we are finalizing the 2017 funds to be submitted to the DBM, so if you have project proposals, you must present it now in clear terms, How long is it? What's the condition? Where is it located?".

The Committee presented and discussed the initial finalization of the Investment Coordination Committee (ICC) outputs on infrastructure proposals for CY 2017 such as seaports, airports, farm-to-market roads, irrigation projects, electrification, school buildings, health centers, tourism and government center projects. They also conferred the updates on the status of socio-economic profile and agencies' reports covering the period January to December 2015.

Regional Secretary Loong reiterated that all RIDC members are required to submit the 2012-2015 Top 10 Accomplishments. Agencies that attended the meeting were DPWH, RPDO, HDAP Department of Education (Deped), Department of Health (DOH), Regional Economic Zone Authority (REZA), Land Transportation and Franchising Regulatory Board (LTFRB), Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR), Department of Tourism (DOT), Department of Transportation and Communication (DOTC), Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP), Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA), Regional Port Management Authority (RPMA), National Telecommunications Commission (NTC), and National Irrigation Authority (NIA-MMIP II).
