Islam believers trooped at the Ramadhan fair inside the ARMM Compound held July 1, 2015 to attend the Orientation on the Virtues of Taraweh, an activity sponsored by the Regional Planning and Development Office (RPDO), as one of the highlights of the Holy month of Ramadhan.
Mr. Palawan T. Mamaon, Planning Officer I of the RPDO-Social Planning Division who welcomed the attendees said that the orientation is significant to all Islam believers because they will be provided knowledge on the importance of Taraweh.
Ustadz Faizal Dakungan, an Islamic scholar and the guest speaker emphasized that the word Taraweh comes from the word Raja which means to rest.
"Taraweh is an additional reward which Allah (S.W.T) gives. It is only performed during Ramadhan. One Taraweh is converted into 70 rewards. Also, if an Islam believer performs 12 Sunnah in a day, he/she will be given a place or a house in paradise", Ustadz Dakungan added.
The orientation ended with a short game wherein the attendees answered the questions based on the lecture of Ustadz Dakungan. The winners were given prizes such as surban, and hijab.
RPDO which is headed by Engr. Baintan Adil-Ampatuan, supports activities promoting Islam religion and values.
