The Regional Project Monitoring Committee (RPMC) of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao monitored and geotagged 2014 ARMM-HELPS (Health, Education, Livelihood, Peace and Governance, and Synergy) and 2014 PAMANA (Payapa at MasaganangPamayanan) Roads to Peace Projects in the province of Basilan. Said project monitoring was conducted last February 8-12, 2016 in the island Municipalities of Lantawan, Akbar, Al-Barka, Hadji Muhammad Adjul, and HadjiMuhtamad.
Among the ARMM-HELPS Projects visited were barangay hall, multi-purpose building, children's park, community learning center, electrification, water system, market/bagsakan, fish port, housing (5 units), footbridge, livelihood projects (vegetation), boats, and health facilities; while PAMANA Roads to Peace Projects are concreting of circumferential and two-lane roads.Mentioned projects are located atBrgy. Cambug, Al-Barka,Brgy. Buton, Hadji Muhammad Adjul,Brgy. Tausan, HadjiMuhtamad, and Brgy.Sulloh, TabuanLasa. As of date, all 2014 ARMM-HELPS Projects implemented in the Province of Basilan are already monitored and geotagged.
The objective of the field monitoring visit was to evaluate the progress of project implementation of infrastructures in order for the project data to be accessible to public through the Regional Project Monitoring and Evaluation System (RPMES) database.
The RPMC Team composed of representatives from the Regional Planning and Development Office (RPDO) ARMM, Technical Management Services-Office of the Regional Governor (TMS-ORG), Bureau of Public Information (BPI) ARMM, and Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) ARMM and was accompanied by ARMM-HELPS Basilan Project Coordinator Mr. Bimbo Epping and representatives from the Basilan District Engineering Office. A total of twenty three (23) ARMM-HELPS and four (4) PAMANA Roads to Peace Projects were monitored and geotagged. (Article prepared by Minaira Sungan, RPDO-MEPD)
