REDPB 2017In the light of the continuous growth of peace and development in the grounds of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM), the Regional Economic and Development Planning Board (REDPB) convened its 1st Regular Meeting for CY 2016 on March 16, 2016 at the Regional Planning and Development Office (RPDO) Conference Hall, ARMM Compound, Cotabato City.

The meeting was facilitated by the RPDO, headed by Executive Director Engr. Baintan A. Ampatuan, which serves as the Board Secretary and Head of the Technical Secretariat.

REDPB is the highest planning and policy-making body in the region chaired by the Regional Governor and composed of the members of the Regional Assembly, provincial governors, city mayors and representatives from non-government organizations.


Atty. Laisa Masuhud-Alamia, Executive Secretary of the ARMM, presided the meeting in behalf of the Regional Governor Mujiv S. Hataman, as Chair of the REDPB. She welcomed the members of the Board and guests and informed them on the significance of the meeting.

"Today, there are a lot of agenda we have to tackle which are primarily focused on the current initiatives of the Autonomous Regional Government (ARG) such as the ARMM Annual Infrastructure Assistance for CY 2017 and other livelihood programs and projects in the region. These initiatives will help reduce poverty and spur socio-economic opportunities to the constituents," Atty. Alamia added.

In the meeting, five (5) resolutions were adopted and approved by the Board after intensive presentation, discussion and deliberation. These were; 1) Board Resolution Approving the Allocation and Programming of Various Infrastructure Projects to be funded out of the CY 2017 ARMM Annual Infrastructure Assistance under Tier 1 or Hard Ceiling Proposal of the autonomous region, 2) Board Resolution Approving the Allocation and Programming of Various Infrastructure Projects to funded out of the CY 2017 ARMM Annual Infrastructure Assistance under Tier 2 or New Spending Proposal of the autonomous region, 3) Board Resolution Approving the Realignment/Change of Description of the Project from Reblocking of 5-km. Kidapawan-Ala-Junction Road (Buluan-Datu Paglas Section) to Concrete Road Widening of 6.5 km. Kidapawan-Ala-Junction Road in Buluan and Datu Paglas Municipalities, 4) Board Resolution Urging the LGUs to fast-track the preparation of their respective CLUP in accordance with existing laws, and 5) Board Resolution Approving the Expansion of the Role of the RPDO as Co-Chair of the four (4) major sectoral committees of the REDPB.

Subsequent to the meeting, the Board will endorse the approved resolutions to the Department of Budget and Management (DBM), Regional Assembly and other concerned agencies for appropriate action.

In attendance during the meeting were the Board members which include Office of the Regional Governor (ORG) as Chair of the Board represented by Executive Secretary Alamia, Provincial Planning and Development Coordinators (PPDCs) of Maguindanao, Basilan, and Tawi-Tawi, Vice Mayor of Lamitan City, representatives from the Regional Assembly, Regional Executive Technical Coordinating Committee (RETCC) members such as Office of the Treasurer (ORT), Solicitor General (SolGen), Chief of Staff (COS), Cabinet Secretary (CabSec) and RPDO, representatives of the chair of the four (4) sectoral committees from the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and Department of Agriculture (DA), and the two (2) private sectors namely Maranao Development Center (MARADECA), and Consortium of the Bangsamoro Civil Society (CBCS). Other agencies who participated in the meeting were the Department of Health (DOH), Regional Economic Zone Authority (REZA), Housing and Land Use Regulatory Board (HLURB), and Bureau of Public Information (BPI).
