ARG supports ARMM Open Data The Autonomous Regional Government (ARG) through the Regional Planning and Development Office (RPDO) with the technical assistance of World Bank held an ARMM Open Data Workshop on January 21, 2016 at RPDO Conference Hall, ARMM Compound, Cotabato City. It aimed to operationalize the ARMM Open Data and facilitate data-sharing among agencies involved in basic education investments in the region.

The workshop was participated in by representatives from regional line agencies such as RPDO, Office of the Regional Governor (ORG), Information Communication and Technology Office (ICTO), Department of Education (DepEd), Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), Department of Health (DOH) as well as non-government partners such as Basic Education Assistance for Muslim Mindanao (BEAM), and German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ). ARG to boost 125,000 IDPs lives in Maguindanao"More than 125,000 Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) who are affected by the Law Enforcement Operations (LEOs) last year will be the priority target of the implementation ARMM-Humanitarian and Development Action Plan (HDAP) livelihood projects," Ms. Melanie M. Indar, Regional Planning and Development Office-Macro Economic Planning Division (RPDO-MEPD) chief, delivered a message in behalf of Engr. Baintan A. Ampatuan, newly appointed project manager and RPDO Executive Director, during the ARMM-HDAP meeting. The meeting was held on January 14 at the RPDO Conference Room, ARMM Compound, Cotabato City.

The meeting aimed at convening regional line agencies such as RPDO, Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Cooperative Development Authority (CDA), and Regional Commission on Bangsamoro Women (RCBW) to confer with the livelihood projects to be implemented under the ARMM-HDAP. Implementation of ARMM-HDAP Projects embarks on 2016"The ARMM-Humanitarian and Development Action Plan (ARMM-HDAP) Cluster meeting is one of the principal initiatives of the regional government under the Hataman administration," Atty. Laisa Masuhud-Alamia, ARMM Executive Secretary and ARMM-HDAP presiding chair, emphasized in her message during the Cluster meeting on December 15, 2015, at the Regional Planning and Development Office (RPDO) Conference Hall, ARMM Compound, Cotabato City.

"A total of 2.3 billion pesos is allotted for Maguindanao alone, that is why we need to fast track the furnishing of some concerns in the Plan before the projects' implementation," Atty. Alamia added.

Maguindanao is one of the provinces in ARMM that was and still is greatly affected by both man-made and natural calamities. The recent event that happened was the all-out offensive military operations in some of the areas in the second district of Maguindanao resulting to displacement of 125,000 families in 15 HDAP municipalities. Economic Growth and Linkages Cluster convenes with World Bank Group

The Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao Economic Growth and Linkages Cluster (ARMM-EGL) convened with the World Bank (WB) group, one of the development partners of the regional government, last December 8, 2015, at the Regional Planning and Development Office (RPDO) Conference Hall, ARMM Compound, Cotabato City to address economic issues in the region.

Issues discussed and presented during the meeting were the insufficient power supply in Basilan, and job generations in Mindanao.

"We have hydroelectric power in Basilan but it is not suffice. We also have solar panels in Basilan's coastal areas but we have a problem with its area," Asec. Myrah M. Alih, Assistant Secretary of the Department of Science and Technology, said.

Atty. Ishak Mastura, Regional Board of Investments (RBOI) Managing Head and Rapid, Inclusive and Sustainable Economic Growth Cluster Chairperson, stressed that one solution to boost regional economy is to provide power supply and create an economic zone. Add a comment

The Good Governance and Anti-Corruption (GGAC) Cluster Executive Committee meeting was conducted on December 3, 2015 at the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Conference Room, ARMM Compound, Cotabato City. The meeting was facilitated by the DILG, Committee Chair, and Regional Planning and Development Office (RPDO), Committee’s technical secretariat.

With the goal to sustain open, transparent, accountable and inclusive governance in the autonomous region, the Committee presented and discussed updates on Good Governance Initiatives (GGI) covering January to October 2015.

"There is a need to assess the performance of the Committee to intensify the governance processes of the regional government," Engr. Khalid Dumagay, DILG-Director III said.Engr.
