RPDO gears on strengthening the RSC for statistical developmentThe Regional Statistics Committee (RSC), chaired by the Regional Planning and Development office (RPDO-ARMM) convened its 1st Regular Meeting for CY 2015 held last September 15, 2015 at the RPDO Conference Hall, ARMM Compound, Cotabato City.

Representatives from regional line agencies such as PSA, DSWD, DILG, DOLE, DepEd, DENR, DAF, DOT, CHED, TESDA, and RBMO attended the meeting.

Presented and discussed during the meeting were Orientation on the establishment of the RSC, Reoort on the 2014 ARMM Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP), and the Forthcoming Celebration of the National Statistics Month (NSM) in October of this year. Add a comment

RSCWC core team visits top 5 LGUs in MaguindanaoThe Regional Council for the Welfare of Children (RSCWC) Core Team composed of DILG, DSWD, RPDO, DOLE, and DepEd-ARMMM visited the top five (5) LGUs in Maguindanao namely Sultan Mastura, Parang, Upi, Mamasapano, Datu Odin Sinsuat, and Radja Buwayan purposely to validate the recently concluded Child-Friendly Local Governance Audit (CFLGA) results on September 9-10, 2015.

The CFLGA is an Audit System that assesses the delivery of social welfare services on children and youth.

Under the CFLGA, all cities and municipalities shall be assessed to gauge their level of performance in implementing child-friendly programs and instituting measures that promote children's welfare.

The ARMM Regional Government supports the "Child-sensitive and Child-Friendly Society" in accordance with the country's commitment to the United Nations Convention on the rights of the Child (CRC). Congratulations to the above-mentioned 5 LGUs in Maguindanao.

The Committee will expect that in the comming year, all LGUs in ARMM shall actively participate in the said audit.

REDPB on its 2nd Regular Meeting for CY 2015The Regional Economic and Development Planning Board (REDPB) conducted its 2nd regular meeting for CY 2015 last September 10, 2015 at the New World Makati Hotel, Makati City.

The meeting was presided by Executive Secretary Atty. Laisa Masuhud-Alamia, in behalf of the Regional Governor Mujiv S. Hataman, with Engr. Baintan Adil-Ampatuan, Executive Director of Regional Planning and Development Office, and head, REDPB-Technical Secretariat.

Discussed and deliberated in the meeting were the following: 1) Inclusive Partnerships for Agricultural Competitiveness (IPAC) Project to be funded by the World Bank to Department of Agrarian Reform Central Office (DARCO)-Foreign and Special Projects Office (FASPO) and National Economic Development Authority (NEDA), a national project that requires action from the Board, 2) updates of recent statistics and the current initiatives of the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), 3) status of 2016 proposed infrastructure budget presented by Mr. Don Mustapha Loong, DPWH-ARMM Secretary, 4) proposal on the UNIFRUTTI projects in ARMM presented by representatives from UNIFRUTTI Philippines, Inc., and 5) creation of a Regional Sub-Committee on Water & Sanitation (RSCW) presented by Atty. ARMM Investments propel economic growth, Economic-Growth-and-Linkages Cluster Meeting held“This meeting is one of the efforts of the Autonomous Regional Government that will spur economic development in the region,” Atty. Ishak V. Mastura, Economic Growth and Linkages (EGL) Cluster Chairperson and Regional Board of Investments (RBOI) Managing Head, stressed in his opening remarks during the conduct of the EGL Meeting held last September 8, 2015 at the RPDO Conference Hall, ARMM Compound, Cotabato City.

“We should continue to partner with the economic investors such as UNIFRUTTI for the development of economic opportunities and investments to improve the quality of life,” Atty. Mastura added.

ARMM initiates Bamboo Planting ActivityOver 400 bamboo seedlings were planted along the riverbank of the Tukanalipao , Mamasapano, Maguindanao during the kick off of the Bamboo Planting Activity spearheaded by the Autonomous Regional Government (ARG) through the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR-ARMM) in partnership with the Regional Planning and Development Office (RPDO-ARMM) held this morning, September 3, 2015.

"This is part of the initiatives of the ARG in line with the implementation of ARMM- Humanitarian Development and Action Plan (ARMM-HDAP) priority programs/projects under the DENR project component. It aims to help protect the area from frequent occurrence of natural calamities such as soil erosion and flood," Engr. Baintan Adil-Ampatuan, RPDO Executive Director, emphasized in her opening statement.

She added that the activity also promotes the spirit of volunteerism on environmental protection in the region. She said that the RPDO chairs the Regional Search Committee-Search for Outstanding Volunteers (RSC-SOV) and the National Volunteer Month-Regional Steering Committee. Add a comment
