RPMC monitors 35 infrastructure projects in BasilanThirty-five infrastructure projects in different municipalities in Basilan were monitored, inspected and geo-tagged by the Regional Project Monitoring Committee (RPMC) during their visit last July 27-31, 2015.

Engr. Macapado Benito, Regional Planning and Development Office-Infrastructure Planning Division (RPDO- IPD) Chief and one of the members of RPMC, said that the projects monitored were paved roads, bridges, culverts, and school buildings implemented by PAyapa, at MAsaganang pamayaNAn (PAMANA) and ARMM Health, Education, Livelihood, Peace and Governance, and Synergy (HELPS) that were located at Lamitan City, Tipo-Tipo, Sumisip, and Lantawan, all in Basilan.

The activity aimed to ascertain the implementation of infrastructure projects that are compliant to standard detailed engineering, and bring the project data and information accessible to public viewing through geo-tagging for transparency.

The RPMC is composed of members from Office of the Executive Secretary (OES), Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), Office of the Regional Treasurer (ORT), Regional Planning and Development Office (RPDO) and non-government organizations.

ARMM takes actions for economic development

The Regional Economic Development Committee (REDC), one of the major committees of the Regional Economic and Development Planning Board (REDPB) converged during its 3rd regular meeting held last July 30, 2015 at the Regional Planning and Development Office (RPDO) Conference Hall, ARMM Compound, Cotabato City.

The meeting was facilitated by the Regional Planning and Development Office (RPDO), REDPB Techincal Secretariat under the directive of Engr. Baintan Adil-Ampatuan. In behalf of Atty. Makmod D. Mending, Committee Chair, Engr. Abubacar Datumanong, DTI-ARMM Assistant Secretary, presided the meeting.

The meeting aimed to discuss the following agenda: a) Economic Growth and Linkages Cluster; b) Fisheries, Coastal Resource and Livelihood (FishCoral) Project; c) Philippine Rural Development Project (PRDP); d) Small Scale Irrigation Projects; e) ARMM Halal Ecosystem (AHE; f) Comprehensive Capacity Development Project (CCDP); g) Cadastral Survey, Job Generation, h) status of Free-Port of Polloc, and i) the Approval of the Proposed Inclusive Partnership for Agricultural Competitiveness (IPAC) of the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR).

During the meeting, the IPAC project, one of the major projects of the committee, was deliberated to be endorsed to the REDPB for consideration and appropriate action.

"These are part of the responsive actions of the ARMM government to the economic-related problems," Engr. Datumanong stressed in his message.

Other topics discussed by the REDC are the government initiatives for the development of the whole ARMM.

ARMM hails 2 Nominees for the 2015 Search for Outstanding Volunteers

Cotabato City -- The Regional Search Committee-Search for Outstanding Volunteers (RSC-SOV) convened its 2nd meeting last July 20, 2015 at the RPDO Meeting Room 2, ARMM Compound, Cotabato City in preparation for the upcoming Search for Outstanding Volunteers (SOV).

The RSC-SOV in ARMM is being chaired by the Regional Planning and Development Office (RPDO-ARMM). Ms. Melanie Mampen-Indar, Macro-Economic Planning Division Chief, presided the meeting in behalf of Engr. Baintan A. Ampatuan, RPDO Executive Director.

The main objective of the meeting was to orient the committee members on the criteria to be considered in the screening of nominees for the 2015 SOV and the validation visit.

As agreed, the validation visit will be conducted on July 28-29, 2015 purposely to validate and generate further inputs about the regional nominees to be considered on the 2015 SOV.

Moreover, the meeting was followed by an interview with the two (2) nominees namely Ms. Mercy R. Cano from the Lumao National High school, South Upi under the adult category, and Mr. Rasol A. Panansaran from the UnYPhil-Women Inc. under the youth category.

The RSC-SOV members is composed of Regional Planning and Development Office (RPDO-ARMM), Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG-ARMM), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DPWH-ARMM), Department of Health (DOH-ARMM), Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR-ARMM), Bureau of Public Information (BPI-ARMM), and Civil Service Commission (CSC-ARMM).

Regional Planning and Development Office (RPDO), being the Chair of the RSC-SOV in ARMM extended its advocacy to the Bangsamoro

>Regional Planning and Development Office (RPDO), being the Chair of the RSC-SOV in ARMM extended its advocacy to the Bangsamoro Development Agency (BDA) regarding the 2015 Search for Outstanding Volunteers through a meeting conducted last July 14, 2015. The BDA is an agency having 4,000 volunteers which continuously manages relief, rehabilitation, and development projects in the conflict affected areas in Mindanao.

The advocacy meeting aimed at generating nominations from BDA partners to recognize the unsung and ordinary Filipino citizens who have given invaluable acts of service towards community development.

Rapid, Inclusive, and Sustainable Economic Growth Cluster Meeting: A Mechanism towards ARMM's Development "It is good that we are having our meeting because there is a need on updating the government initiatives that the cluster has implemented and to be implemented," Atty. Ishak V. Mastura, chairperson of the Rapid, Inclusive and Sustainable Economic Growth Cluster emphasized during the conduct of its 1st Regular Cluster Meeting which was facilitated by the Regional Planning and Development Office (RPDO) held last July 8, 2015 at the RPDO Conference Hall, ARMM Compound, Cotabato City.

"This is highly technical and we should focus more on the delivery of the programs and projects to intensify its implementation", Atty. Mastura added.

Mastura who is also the chairperson of the Regional Board of Investment (RBOI) has been pushing for programs that would help promote good investment climate and opportunities in the region. Add a comment

RPDO attends the ARMM GIO Meeting The Regional Planning and Development Office (RPDO-ARMM) has renewed its membership with the ARMM's Guild of Information Officers (GIOs) in a meeting facilitated by the Bureau of Public Information (BPI-ARMM) held yesterday, July 7, 2015 at the Bajau Hall, Office of the Regional Governor, Cotabato City.

The RPDO, under the directive of Engr. Baintan Adil-Ampatuan has been actively supporting information or advocacy initiatives of the Autonomous Regional Government (ARG).
